I was exulted, for our date. It had been a long wait that night before. Your essence magnetizing my mind towards you. The night had been long yet pleasing; I saw the stars twinkling and the moon smiling, as if it was asking me for persistence. Its glimmer reminded me of your smile. The moon was newly born may be a couple days old but it spoke clearly. She console me and said the wait would be over soon and she would be anxiously waiting to see us together she also promised to be brighter when she see us.
I immersed into her thoughts, about her dress her long hair, being matured at her kid-dish sayings, the essence of her perfume her unforgettable smile, her glittering eyes that hypnotizes each time I look in, I feel like heaven. The night grew old as my wait grew young, slumber refused to visit me magnifying my wait. I felt like a father waiting for his baby to see the first glimpse of the world. I was in complete euphoria.
The dusk was nearly over as the orange twilight engulfed the twinkling stars and the moon offering me wishes before she vanished. The locket I bought for her resembled the young morning sun, golden and bright, made me feel the day has come and my wait was just about over. The sky camouflaged from black to orange now blue, the sun brighter.
Alarming the city to get up in its tows by each passing moments. I felt to ring her and welcome her to this new day, but I stopped perhaps because I thought it was too early for her to rise. But my heart felt like a young flamingo that’s anxious for its first flight yet feared to take the risk. I looked at the clock in every passing second and felt the world stood still and clock stopped ticking.
But time never betrayed as it waits for none. It was just a few hours left for my wait to be real. I wanted to look the best in the world that day. I searched for my attire’s but nothing seemed to be perfect. nothing satisfied me to impress her . The time moved like a rocket as I tried on everything I had…until it was too late to carry on that search any more I rushed out with a dilemma of not being perfect but my heart consoled that it was the best I could be…it said its me what matters more than the color of the cloth ….i waited anxiously for her as I tried to perfect myself but my emotions was far beyond my control…….the moon came as she promised on time unlike her … until we saw her at a distance she seemed to be a fairy in flesh and blood I rushed………the moon smiled the stars blessed ..and I mesmarized………
